The Netherlands Patent Office
Filing a patent application:
The official authority for the processing of patent applications for Sint Maarten is the Netherlands Patent Office.
The Bureau for Intellectual Property of Sint Maarten can submit your patent application to the Netherlands Patent Office.
Once granted, any Netherlands patent provides protection in Sint Maarten as well as in other Caribbean parts of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, namely Curaçao and the BES islands (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba). Aruba has its own patent system and therefor is not included under this system.
The Netherlands Patent Office provides free and tailored information and support to innovators and businesses regarding patents.
