Trademark registrations for Sint Maarten
We are pleased and relieved to report that the staff at the Bureau for Intellectual Property of Sint Maarten (BIP SXM) are safe and sound. They have withstood Hurricane Irma, but sadly the premises in Philipsburg are badly damaged. Consequently, the Bureau will be closed until further notice.
In accordance with the National Trademark Decree and the National Trademark Ordinance, the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP) will temporarily take over trademark registrations for Sint Maarten as far as possible. Trademark registrations and renewals can be submitted as normal via the website (www.bip.sx).
