In November 2019 the Director, Mrs. Vincentia Rosen-Sandiford, as well as the Deputy Director, Mrs. Aarti Jusia-Ramdihal of the Bureau for Intellectual Property Sint Maarten (BIP SXM) attended the 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Intellectual Property Caribbean Association (IPCA) in Trinidad. BIP SXM has been a member of IPCA since 2017.
The Bureau for Intellectual Property Sint Maarten (BIP SXM) submitted its Multi-Annual Budget and Policy Plan 2020-2024 to the former Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunication (Minister of TEATT), Mr. Stuart Johnson for approval.
The Bureau for Intellectual Property (BIP SXM) held a workshop, at the Chamber of Commerce & Industry (C.O.C.I.), on Intellectual Property (IP) rights. The objective of BIP SXM is to work closer together with C.O.C.I to create more IP awareness for businessowners and entrepreneurs on Sint Maarten.
The Bureau for Intellectual Property (BIP SXM), in collaboration with the Patent Office, subdivision of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (NEA) partnered for the Sint Maarten Innovation, Initiatives & Industries Link-Up Event (SMILE) 2019. This two-day event kicked off with a welcome reception followed by 29 masterclasses and workshops held on October 26th, 2019 at the University of Sint Maarten.
