The Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transportation & Telecommunication (Minister of TEATT), Mr. Roger Lawrence and his support staff met with the Supervisory Board, Director and the team of the Bureau for Intellectual Property Sint Maarten (the Bureau/BIP SXM) for an introductory meeting.

 

The Bureau is pleased to announce that it has received approval from the Minister of TEATT for its seventh Financial Statement (2020), as well as its seventh multi-annual budget and policy plan (2021-2025) submitted late last year. The Bureau is audited annually by Stichting Overheidsaccountantsbureau (SOAB).

The Bureau for Intellectual Property (BIP SXM) partnered with the PWR Agency for the PWR Mixer & Masterclass, held on December 8th & 9th, 2019 at the Commodore Suites in Simpson Bay.


In November 2019 the Director, Mrs. Vincentia Rosen-Sandiford, as well as the Deputy Director, Mrs. Aarti Jusia-Ramdihal of the Bureau for Intellectual Property Sint Maarten (BIP SXM) attended the 5th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Intellectual Property Caribbean Association (IPCA) in Trinidad. BIP SXM has been a member of IPCA since 2017.

The Bureau for Intellectual Property Sint Maarten (BIP SXM) submitted its Multi-Annual Budget and Policy Plan 2020-2024 to the former Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunication (Minister of TEATT), Mr. Stuart Johnson for approval.


The Bureau for Intellectual Property (BIP SXM) held a workshop, at the Chamber of Commerce & Industry (C.O.C.I.), on Intellectual Property (IP) rights. The objective of BIP SXM is to work closer together with C.O.C.I to create more IP awareness for businessowners and entrepreneurs on Sint Maarten.
