BIP SXM @INTA Annual Meeting 2026

BIP SXM recently participated in the 148th Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA), held in London, England, in 2026.

The Annual Meeting brought together intellectual property (IP) professionals, policymakers, legal experts, brand owners, and government representatives from around the world to exchange knowledge on current and emerging issues affecting trademark and IP administration. This year’s program placed particular focus on the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on the creation, protection, and enforcement of IP rights.

As an Intellectual Property Office (IPO), BIP SXM plays a key role in the development, protection, and promotion of IP rights in Sint Maarten. Participation in international forums such as INTA is therefore essential in ensuring that the Bureau remains engaged with global developments and aligned with international best practices.

During the conference, the Bureau actively participated in table topic discussions, engaging in focused exchanges with international peers on practical IP challenges. These sessions covered enforcement approaches, brand protection strategies, ownership considerations, and risk management within an increasingly technology-driven environment.

The exchanges highlighted the importance of IP offices adapting to new technological developments while continuing to support effective IP protection. The knowledge gained will further support BIP SXM’s ongoing efforts to strengthen IP awareness, improve administrative practices, and enhance services for innovators, businesses, and creators in Sint Maarten.

Through its participation, BIP SXM reaffirmed its commitment to staying informed on global IP developments and contributing to international dialogue. The Bureau remains dedicated to fostering a strong intellectual property system that supports innovation, creativity, and economic growth in Sint Maarten.
