BIP SXM @ COCI St. Eustatius & Saba Workshop 2026

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy of the Netherlands (Ministry of EACP) and the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP), in collaboration with the Bureau for Intellectual Property (BIP SXM), provided a presentation to entrepreneurs on St. Eustatius and Saba. The presentations were hosted by the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of St. Eustatius & Saba with the objective of increasing intellectual property (IP) awareness among local entrepreneurs.

The presentation covered different forms of IP and their relevance to businesses, including trademarks and copyrights. Information was also provided on the importance of protecting IP and the services provided by BOIP and BIP SXM.

IP can be an important asset for entrepreneurs, whether it is a business name, logo, creative work, design or another original creation. Having a better understanding of IP can help entrepreneurs recognize what can be protected and helps them to make informed decisions about IP as they develop their businesses.

Participants showed enthusiasm throughout the presentations and actively engaged by asking questions and sharing experiences. The sessions provided a good opportunity to connect directly with entrepreneurs in St. Eustatius and Saba, and highlight the relevance of IP to their businesses.
